1 ON 1 WITH NCAA DIVISION I COACH MATTHEW DRISCOLL
Drive: What does Baylor look for in potential recruits for the program?
MD: The first thing Coach Drew (Baylor Head Coach) likes is a scorer, knowledge of the game how and when to make plays. Also ball handling and athleticism - especially laterally, ability to rebound at both ends, "degree of toughness" all this can become better through work and dedication, but the true passion for the game will take you to another level.
Drive: What makes a player great?
MD: The ability to be the best offensive and defensive player on your team, able to get your team in the position to win "winning games and making big plays" great players make great plays.
Drive: What advice do you give players growing up in B.C.?
MD: Colleges are looking for more than just the most talented players. A combination of hard work, great attitude, and an ability to help our team on and off the court are key.
Matthew Driscoll is the Assistant Coach at NCAA Division I Baylor University. He is a very successful NCAA Asst. Coach with experience at major colleges such as University of Wyoming, Clemson University and his current school Baylor University in Texas. DRIVE wishes Coach Driscoll and Baylor the best of luck this coming season.
