DRIVE Summer Complete Player Camp

 

DRIVE Basketball is excited to announce the DRIVE Summer Complete Player Camp(s) to take place in Richmond & Coquitlam in July and August 2009.

The DRIVE Complete Player Camp is one of a kind program designed to improve the overall skillset, conditioning and knowledge of its players. Players will also experience psychological benefits of increased confidence and motivation as well as the self-efficacy to maximize their effort on and off the basketball court. Players are taught to dream big. Campers will also be instructed on proper nutrition and recovery habits as well as instruction on time management. The camp is a very intense, fast paced program that ensures to challenge campers while also being fun. This program is designed for players with experience at a medium to high level and are looking for a high intensity camp during the Summer. Players will have advanced on-court instruction modeled after championship teams and collegiate programs. 

The program will include drills to help develop the players hand eye-cordination, fundamental motor skills, shooting mechanics, passing, ball-handling, dribble moves and overall enjoyment of the game.

The Complete Player Camp is also an identification for DRIVE Elite teams and possible invites to DRIVE Elite team try-outs.

THE COACHES

Both Pasha Bains and Chad Clifford are former NCAA Division I players, Canadian University All-Stars and BC High School MVPs. Along with their playing experience, the two have extensive experience in coaching, teaching and instructing basketball at all levels. Their passion is DRIVE Basketball. Pasha is a Master's Graduate of Coaching Science from UBC, while Chad is a graduate of Human Kinetics from UBC with specialization in Youth Development. Both are former BC AAA MVPs having led their respective High Schools to AAA Provincial Championships in 1998 (Pasha) and 1999 (Chad). Pasha remains the BC AAA All-time scorer and was recently named the "Best Player of the 90s" (Vancouver Sun), "Best Coach", "Best Richmond Athlete of All-Time" (Richmond Review), "Top 30 Under 30" (Richmond Review) & "100 most influential South Asians in BC" (Vancouver Sun).

The DRIVE Staff is comprised of a number of former or current University Student-Athletes. The staff has competed at a variety of levels within British Columbia and includes NCAA Division I players and National team members. The staff has extensive playing experience including AAA Provincial and CIS National Championships.

THE CURRICULUM

 

The Complete Player Camp is a unique program that combines highly specific basketball and fitness training with a specialized focus on positional play.  Each camper will receive 30 hours of quality basketball and fitness instruction throughout the week.
