Aaron is currently a teacher at St. Thomas More High (STM) in Burnaby. Aaron is an active coach within STM as he headed the Jr.Boys team that climbed as high as #5 in the Provincial rankings for the 2005-2006 season. Prior to STM, Coach Mitchell spent three-seasons as Head Coach Crocus Plains High in Brandon, Manitoba. Coach Mitchell has experience with Basketball B.C. Elite Development program and spent the Summer of 2005 as an Asst. with the B.C. U-17 All-Stars.
Coach Mitchell had an accomplished playing career that began at storied B.C. High School program Terry Fox. Aaron helped lead the Ravens to the 1994 AAA B.C. title earning 2nd Team All-Star as a Junior. Aaron moved onto Langara College where he was a four-time BCCAA League All-Star and two-time BCCAA Player of the Year (1998, 2000) In addition, Aaron was a two-time CCAA All-Canadian and runner up for National player of the year (1998, 2000) Aaron was a key member of the 1998 CCAA National Championship team at Langara (1st title in school history), and finished second on the school's all-time scoring list. Coach Mitchell graduated from Brandon University where he was a member and starter on the 2001 Runner up Brandon Bobcats.
Coach 'Mitch' has extensive experience working with young athletes. He has coached camps and clinics with Basketball B.C., Terry Fox, Langara College, UBC and Brandon University. Coach Mitchell has experience at several DRIVE events including the 2005 Compelete Player Camp and DRIVE University Spring '05. 'Mitch' is known for his enthusiastic attitude and overall love for the game of basketball. He is always a camp favorite where he specializes in fundamental instruction and heads the 'Footwork from A-Z' station.
