(Pictured: 2 of B.C.'s Top Freshmen, Nick Dekoster and Gurjote Jhaj.

The list of top freshman is in no particular order.)

Ty Nurse: Point Guard (Kitsilano)

Ty was the leader for his team that finished second at the BC’s for grade 8 last season. He possesses a pure stroke from beyond the arc but can also penetrate to the rim finding his open teammates. Ty has the ability to make players around him better.

Gurjote Jhaj: Point Guard (McNair)
Gurj is a long and athletic guard who can do a lot of things on the basketball court. He possesses a deadly right-to-left crossover and can finish at the rim. He has great court vision for a player his age; his natural position might be the point guard spot which is scary considering he’s already 6’3 inches tall. Gurjote just began playing basketball a year and half ago so his potential is unlimited. Gurj has the work ethic to become an elite player.

Marc Trasolini: Forward (Vancouver College)
Marc is a great shot blocker who uses his size and athleticism to play good post defense. Marc has the capability to knock down the 15 ft. jumper on a consistent basis. He is hard to guard when he takes his defender out to the high post area because of his quick first step and his ability to finish with either of his hands.

Nick Dekoster: Point Guard (White Rock Christian)
Nick is a silky smooth left handed guard. He has a beautiful looking jump shot with range all the way to the 3. Nick also has the ability to break down his defender and get into the lane. Nick best qualities are his work ethic and basketball IQ, both of which will help him become an elite player.

Demitri Harris: Guard (Britannia)
Demitri is a long and athletic guard who can do a lot of good things on the court. He is slippery when he penetrates, finding ways to get to the basket to get his shot off. When he is determined to do something on the court he becomes extremely hard to stop.

Sam Freeman: Forward (Charles Best)
Sam is an ultra athletic player who is capable of blocking or altering people’s shots. He also has a solid post up game with the ability to make the face up shot from 17 feet. Very athletic and is a great shot blocker.

Clark Callejo: Guard (Princess Margaret)
Clark possesses the rare ability to be quick and fast. He is at his best in the open court where he can force the tempo on the defense. Clark also can “lock” up his defenders using his superior foot speed and quick hands

Caleb Klassen: Guard (Yale)
Caleb is a strong guard with the ability to play good on the ball defense. He is a good leader on the court with a knack for coming up with every loose ball. Has good handles but needs to play the game more under control.

Brayden Ross: Forward (Vancouver Tech)
Brayden is at his best when he is out on the wing, receiving the ball in the fastbreak. Has numerous different finishes around the basket that allow him to get his shot off in otherwise difficult circumstances.

Sean Ashkenzy: Forward (Handsworth)
Sean is a good low post player with numerous different moves that make him difficult to guard in the post. He also has the ability to make the 15 footer on a consistent basis making him hard to defend against if other posts are matched up against him out there.

Honorable Mention:

Spencer Dore: Forward (Seaquam)
Connor Waddell: Guard (Maple Ridge)
Griffin Bullock: Guard (Windsor)
Bryan Gill: Forward (Burnaby South)
Farris Tyab: Forward (Sentinel)
Spencer McLean: Forward (Walnut Grove)
