What's up DRIVE basketball!

What a way to end a highschool career! I couldn't be happier, and more proud of everyone who made this possible. Looking back I am still shocked when I think that we actually did it, we actually won. I remember going to the HSBC finals and watching Handsworth and Argyle play and thinking it would be such a long shot to beat one of those teams. I would have to say that this championship feels a little better than the championship in 2003, and I say that only because when you are a senior, there is a sense of hunger and desperateness that you don't have in your younger years. Another reason why I really genuinely enjoyed this year was because of the chemistry in the team and the part that the 4 other seniors played. I felt like there was no load on my shoulders and that we were going to do our best as a team, this let me just sit back, relax and enjoy my last year, and I owe so much to my teammates, especially the other seniors on the team for that.

All of the games were tough, I was deffinetly most worried about Killarny, especially after seeing what happened with Argyle and Wellington. The provincials are just like the college March Madness that you see on TV, it doesn't matter what your seeded whoever comes out to play is going to win. I was really happy with how everyone played, everyone contributed. Jordan and Rob were two of the best defenders in the tournament, Adam was big under the boards and came up with some clutch shots, Drew came out of a slump and really surprised everybody coming up with a huge performance in the St.Georges game, Pete was solid through every game, offensive and defensively, he was on the ground for every loose ball, and Jeron, well, the kid had the tournament of his life, and he deserved every bit of it, I was so proud of him and he really helped me get my looks offensively!

I have to give it to Wellington though, they had a great tournament, and they certainly gave us a great run for the championship. When it got down to about 3 points with 3 minutes left, I think a lot of people became Wellington fans, it's all about the underdog, but I just looked at the other seniors on the floor and there wasn't any doupt in my eyes are theirs, we had worked too hard to let this championship slip out of our hands, and thankfully pretty much everyone stepped up with a big play at the end of the game, Jeron's three pointers, Pete's layup, Rob causing Davidson to shoot an airball, and mine and Jeron's free throws! All in all, this one is for our team, our fans, our coaches and most importantly God, so many people helped us do this, I thank all of you with all my heart.

Until next time,

God Bless

Ty
