DRIVE TOP 25: PG | SG | SF | PF | C

FORWARD: Forwards have the ability to finish everything on the inside whether it’s a post move, jump shot, or an easy lay-up. They’re a “beast” on the glass, run the floor well and when left open will knock down the open shot. The best forwards can score in numerous ways and come up with all the big boards.

1. Jake Doerksen: 6’7’’ Senior – Rick Hansen (UVic)
Jake averaged a gaudy 36 points and 18 boards at this year’s AAA Championships while leading his team to a 5th place finish. He was named as a 1st team all-star in every tournament he played in this year. Jake is an absolute beast on the glass, ripping down everything in sight. He shoots a great percentage from the floor and has range all the way to the 3 point line. Jake finishes through contact. He has great touch around the rim and will catch anything you pass to him. He will be an instant impact player at the next level.
2. Sinclair Brown: 6’8’’ Senior – Argyle (SFU)

Sinclair is a combo forward who has largely been used at the 4 spot at Argyle. He has a high, fluid stroke and is more then capable of putting it on the floor. His jump shot has improved greatly over the past year. Sinclair is athletic and works well on the wing and baseline finding different seams to operate in. He has all the tools for greatness with his size and athleticism. He is a solid post player with nice footwork and touch around the bucket. Sinclair will definitely contribute at the next level.
3. Mike Hull: 6’6’’ Senior – Mt. Douglas (Camosun)
Mike is an extremely talented forward and explosive athlete. He has big forward height with the quickness and shooting ability of a perimeter player. Mike possesses great length, skills and athleticism that allow him to score from everywhere on the floor, especially in transition. He is a great at rebounding and blocking shots. Has a great feel for the game and is only getting better. Mike has one of the brightest upsides in this year’s graduating class.
4. Brent Malish: 6’6’’ Junior – Brookswood (Underclassmen)

Brent is saturated with skills and does just about everything well on the court. He looks to attack the hoop but is able to stop before the rim for the pull-up jumper or floater displaying good mid-range game. He has improved his long range shooting although he will not take an overabundant number of 3's. Brent can handle the ball against pressure defense making good decisions in the full-court. He has great hands and will finish anything you pass to him. He can really rebound using his athleticism to crashes the boards. Brent will be a dominating force next season as he leads one of the top teams in BC for next season.
5. Paul Woodham: 6’7’’ Junior – Kitsilano (Underclassmen)

Paul uses his size well for a big man. He is quicker than most forwards, and can slide through defenders in the lane. He is a good rebounder who works relentlessly on the glass especially on the offensive end. He can step out and hit the occasional 18-footer but prefers to take it to the basket. Displays decent handle’s for a big man and can drive past slower post players. Paul gets great position in the post, and has excellent footwork pinning his man under the hoop. He is crafty player who knows his strengths and plays to them. Paul is an excellent athlete with very good quickness and explosiveness.
